PortalGuard allows you to deploy a secure way to access the applications that your end users need in order to get the job done, regardless of where those applications are hosted. Primary integration points for the Domino package include:
PortalGuard acts as an Identity Provider (IdP) to provide secure Single Sign-On using the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) protocol. By utilizing this industry standard protocol, PortalGuard provides users with streamlined access to Domino web applications using only a single set of credentials. This implementation comes as a natural extension to Domino's existing functionality. Beginning with Domino 9, IBM Domino has native support for SAML, enabling easy integration with an IdP such as PortalGuard. For environments that utilize an older version of the Domino framework, PistolStar's Password Power 8 product may be utilized to provide SAML SSO functionality.
Furthermore, access management is configurable down to the individual organizational unit of the registered user. This integration makes access control a non-issue for administration, without applying undue hassle on the end-user.
The PortalGuard IdP also provides granular password management capabilities to enable Password Reset, Recovery, and Account unlock for end-users - relieving the pressure from local IT services. Password Management empowers end-users, and can be configured to satisfy both internal and external compliance requirements.
PortalGuard Integrated Authentication Package for Domino improves both usability and security without sacrificing either.
