    How to Perform SAML SSO

  • User attempts to access the Application or Service
  • The Application or service generates an authentication request
  • Authentication request is submitted to PortalGuard
  • PortalGuard determines whether or not the user has already authenticated
    • If Not:
    • PortalGuard requests user authentication
    • User authenticates to PortalGuard
    • PortalGuard submits encoded SAML Response to the application/service
    • User is granted access.
      If User Has Already Authenticated
    • PortalGuard submits an encoded SAML response to the application/service
    • User is granted access
